I'm not sure it's the hotels fault as much as human nature, so what can you do. Since more or less everyone does that, it's pretty impossible to find chairs unless you "reserve" them early, which is supposedly against hotel policy but everyone does it anyways. People leave a hat or item there and go away for 6 hours blocking that chair from use. The staff is also fairly slow because they're understaffed (not their fault)Īlso it's very difficult to get a chair by the pools. So I guess that's what I expected since it's the same company, but there's a world of difference.

I've only stayed at one other all inclusive, the Secrets at Cabo San Lucas and the food there was very good. The food though was pretty bad, basically like eating at a buffet in your college dorms. So that part is all good, if not fairly expensive.

The excursions (shop around) are nice they have ATV rides, horseback riding, zip lining, the volcanic hot baths and mud baths and some things we didn't try like whitewater rafting. Most of the excursions are between 2-4 hours drive on a very bumpy road. Children play in the adult pool even though there's a clear sign they can't pass a specific point.Ĭosta Rica is a beautiful country and the location itself is nice, but it's far from everything. Breakfast was standard for a buffet.ĭrinks are stronger at the pool. The patio (Mexican restaurant) food was amazing! Service lagged but not like other restaurants. Continuously had to get up and look for a waiter, it took longer than two hours just to get our meal. Portifinos was disappointing, service was terrible. staff is reserve, and many had faces and attitudes that they dislike the job or maybe the people. I can agree with the reviews that warned us not to expect the hospitality you may be use to when you visit a resort in Mexico. Staff around the children's pool was rude, however staff in the adult pool were amazing, and quick! Staff was not aware of many different things located within the hotel. Staff was not helpful in pointing us where we could eat. My friends had complaints that their mini fridge wasn't restocked.Īfter checking in we were hungry, and looking for food. However, room was always cleaned, and turn down service was done nightly. Room view was not what was in the description. We were not given much direction or told much, just thrown into the check in office with the crowd after getting off our tranportation from the airport.
